古藍(lán)田玉原生玉礦尚未找到，現(xiàn)代開(kāi)采的藍(lán)田玉礦床位于陜西省藍(lán)田縣玉川鎮(zhèn)紅門(mén)寺村一帶，距縣城約35千米，含礦巖層為太古代黑云母片巖、角閃片麻巖等。玉石為細(xì)粒大理巖，主要由方解石組成。按礦物成分及外觀特征可將玉石分為五種：.種為白色大理巖；第二種為淺米黃色蛇紋石大理巖；第三種為黃色蛇紋石大理巖；第四種為蘋(píng)果色蛇紋石大理巖；第五種為條帶狀透閃石化蛇紋大理巖。
